Ingredients
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 16 Cardamom pods (dried)
- 12 whole Cloves
- 24 Black Pepper corns
- 4 slices of fresh Ginger
- 1 T of Black Tea (such as English Breakfast, Indian Assam, or Chinese Keemun)
- 2 C milk (skim, 1%, 2% or whole)
Directions
- Combine all ingredients except the Black Tea and place in a pot with 40 oz. of water
- Place on medium heat and bring to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes
- After 20 minutes add the Black Tea and blend in leaving the low heat ON
- Add the milk, stir gently, and watch carefully. As soon as mixture just begins to show signs of boiling remove it from the heat
- Pour through a strainer to remove solids
- Serve, adding honey if desired, to taste
