Common Questions…

How do I recharge it?
Recharge the UV Matlite by exposing it to another light source such as: sunlight, flashlights, fluorescent bulbs, halogens, etc. You do NOT need to take it out into direct sunlight to recharge it, it will just absorb ambient light from its environment. Just leave it on your nightstand, it will charge with lights in the bedroom or indirect sunlight from window. All UV Matlite products charge in 1 minute of sunlight, 5-10minutes of ambient room light, or just seconds with a flashlight.

How much light does it need to charge?
A very small amount of ambient light is required to fully charge the Matlites i.e. ambient light from a window, light from the doorway, or turning the light switch on throughout the day.  Direct sunlight is NOT necessary to recharge it.

Can I cut it? Mount it? Or use it outdoors?

Absolutely! You can easily cut it with a handsaw or electric saw. It can be mounted on a wall or against a tree using screws or nails. Use it indoors or outdoors, rain or shine, and in any temperature.

Paqlite example

What makes the Matlite different from the UV Paqlite?
The Matlite is a solid piece of hard glow material while the Paqlite are small glow beads laminated between plastic sheets. The Matlite is designed for increased durability. Matlite has the same brightness as the large

UVPaqlite but is heavier. The UVMatlite can be mounted against a wall, taken under water, glows in any temperature, and is designed to be used anywhere. They recharge the same and can be written on with a flashlight.

Why would I want the Matlite vs the UVPaqlite?
Customers requested a nicer looking version of the UVPaqlite for their homes, boats, and RVs.  The Paqlite is intended for camping (a light inside your tent) or backpacking when weight is more of an issue.  The Paqlite is also has some flexible where the Matlite is solid.

Suggested Uses:

    • Bathrooms – Set in on your countertop or the back of the toilet. When you wake up in the middle of the night you won’t have to turn on the light switch.
    • Bedrooms – The low-level green light provides just enough light for the kids to see but it’s not bright enough to keep them awake.
    • Power Outages- Whether the power outage lasts one night or weeks the UV Matlite will provide you and your family with a reliable light source every night…it
      will never wear out.
    • Sailboats – Looking for a light for the head that won’t drain your boat batteries? This is it!
    • Cabins & Campers – Going off grid? This is the light you need. It won’t drain your battery storage and doesn’t rely on LEDs or electrical components to work.
