When it comes to building a fire in the old, historic way, a flint striker is a must-have, whether you are reenacting, camping, or anything else. This Oval Striker and was found only around the Great Lakes Regions of America (then the “Western Reserve”) in the 17 and 1800’s.  These strikers is fully functional and will serve well in all your fire-making endeavors. This flint striker is made from high carbon steel in its traditional historic shape. The oval shape shaping  ensures that it is easy to hold and strike, making it effortless to use. The closed oval also allows the striker to be carried on a neck lanyard or tied on the outside of a haversack or pouch.

This Oval Flint Striker as well as our other strikers like it, were among the most commonly used methods of starting a fire from the Iron Age to forward, and even today, bushmen and enthusiasts still use it successfully, making it a pivotal part of any reenactors pack, campers kit, and much more.

This Striker is designed for a smaller hand or for a small Flint & Stell Kit measuring

– made from 3/16 x 1/4 inch High Carbon steel.

 

The Large Oval Striker is designed for a larger hand measuring:
