The magnesium fire starter is one of the most popular ways to start a fire. Works in the rain and snow. All you do is shave some of the magnesium under your tinder or kindling. Then flip it over to the built-in Fire Steel sparking rod (ferrocerium rod) and send a shower of sparks into your magnesium flakes. The magnesium will quickly combust into 3,400 F flames, quickly igniting your fuel.
