Corn on the Cob (Colonial Style)

As you can gather from the ingredients, the corn cobs are cooked in milk, as well as cream, butter, and sugar. After simmering for a few minutes, “something miraculous happens” to both the flavor and texture that will make you a legend as a “Corn Chef”.

Ingredients

  • 8 ears of corn
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1/3 Cup white sugar
  • 1/4 Cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 Cup butter

Directions

  1. Shuck the corn
  2. Bring water to a boil in a large stock pot
  3. Stir in all other ingredients and stir until smooth.
  4. Toss in the corn and simmer on low for 7 to 8 minutes.
