Pulled Pork from Cattail Heads


  • 2 C brown Cattail fluff (approx. 2 brown fuzzy heads)
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 C melted butter
  • 1/8 C milk
  • 2 T of real Maple Syrup
  • 1 t of Nutmeg
  • 1 t of Black Pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Remove cattail fluff from the heads by twisting
  3. Stir in eggs, butter, milk, maple syrup, ntneg and pepper
  4. Blend together in a food processor
  5. Pour evenly into a greased casserole dish
  6. Bake 20 minutes or until bubbles occur
  7. Remove from oven and then remove contents from casserole dish.
  8. “Tear” apart with a fork so it “looks like” pulled pork.
  9. Place a sliced onion in skillet over a medium heat and sprinkle with black pepper. and cook until onion is caramelized
  10. Add in the “Cattail Pulled Pork” and cook until hot
  11. Pour on barbecue sauce and serve
